1. Getting Started: How to install Inertia theme

Welcome to inertia theme, Please follow these simple steps to get started with your amazing website.

Step 1 - Download theme files from themeforest

After purchasing theme through themeforest, you need to download theme files from your themeforest account.

It should be a compressed file (.zip) format. Uncompress the downloaded file and you should find the following files:


Step 2 - Theme Setup

There are three ways you can install a WordPress theme:

  1. RECOMMENDED: Install a Theme by using the Upload Method from WordPress Admin
  2. ADVANCED: Installing a WordPress Theme With FTP (File-Transfer Protocol)

IMPORTANT: ALWAYS UPLOAD BOTH (inertia.zip) AND (inertia-child.zip) AND ACTIVATE CHILD THEME TO ENSURE RECEIVING UPDATES WITHOUT DELETING ANY CUSTOMIZATIONS YOU HAVE ALREADY MADE.

RECOMMENDED: Install theme by uploading it from WordPress Admin

  1. Go to your WordPress Dashboard. Navigate to Appearance > Themes > Add New.
  2. Click on Upload Theme (inertia.zip)



  3. Then locate your theme’s ZIP file and select to Upload.
  4. Once the upload is complete, you’ll be able to activate your theme.
  5. After activation, your will be redirected automatically to Inertia theme dashboard


  6. Click on the orange button to install necessary plugins, the following plugins are essential for the theme to function properly: Kirki & Envato Market

    1. Kirki is the options framework that inertia use to provide its amazing options.

    2. Envato Market is a plugin to ensure receiving latest theme updates automatically.

    3. MNMLD Themes: A lightweight plugin that extends theme with additional features. Highly recommended to be installed. 

    4. One Click Demo Import: Install only if you are willing to import theme demo. If you are planning to start customizing your theme from scratch then no need to install.

  7. Configure Envato Market: Add your envato market token for verification and to receive theme future updates.

  8. Make sure that the status in Inertia's dashboard page is indicating in green All Good.Hopping Smoothly!. This means that everything is configured correctly.



Advanced Installation Method

While the following installations is valid to follow, but we don't recommend following these methods unless you are familiar with FTP and its related clients.

Step 3 - (optional) Import demos

if you are willing to import a specific demo, read this article.


Step 4 - Customizing Settings

You can start customizing your theme settings right away by clicking on of the following:


2. Theme Demos: How to import pre-built websites?

Inertia comes with number of pre-built websites (demos) in order to import and publish your site in minutes.

Inertia provides two types of imports:

  1. Only demo visual styles and settings
  2. Demo Content + visual styles and settings

By default, Inertia will import settings and visual styles only. If you want to import the demo as it is in our website, you will have to do the following:

To import the demo of your choice, Kindly follow the steps:

  1. From side menu, click on Inertia


  2. Check One Click Demo import card, it should be active, if not, click on INSTALL

  3. Follow install & activation steps

  4. Now you will find a new menu link Theme Demos visible 

  5. Click on Theme Demos and select the demo of your choice. Click on Import Demo

  6. Click on Continue & Import

  7. Now wait for the demo to be completely imported.

  8. To start customizing your website, click on Inertia -> Theme Options or Appearance -> Customize


Tip: Imported demos includes dummy posts, demo settings and widgets but it does not include sample pages. To import sample pages, check this article.



3. Import Pages

The import process includes sample posts for each demo, However if you want to import demo pages like about, services and the rest of pages, Kindly follow the following steps:

  1. Download the sample pages XML file to import. Download Sample Pages - Click Here
  2. Right click -> Save As to download.
  3. Go to Tools -> Import -> Wordpress




  4. Click on Run Importer
  5. Click on choose file and Choose the file you downloaded (inertia-pages.xml)



  6. Click on Upload file and import.
  7. Click on Pages link in menu and start editing your pages.
Tip: Always delete pages you are not willing to use or change page status to draft in order not to impact your website SEO score.



4. Activate Neo Brutalism Style

Inertia WordPress theme comes with built-in Neo-Brutalism design style that applies across all pages once enabled.

To enable/disable Neo-Brutalism option in Inertia theme, Follow the following steps:

  1. From Admin Dashboard, click on Inertia -> Theme Options
  2. Click on Colors & Fonts Panel 


  3. Scroll down to Design Styles Options Section and click on the button.


  4. Click Publish to save changes.


    5. Activate Dark Mode

    Inertia WordPress theme comes with built-in darkmode theme that works across all pages.

    To enable/disable darkmode option in Inertia theme, Follow the following steps:

    1. From Admin Dashboard, click on Inertia -> Theme Options
    2. Click on General Settings Panel 



    3. Scroll down to Dark Mode Section and click on the switch button.


    4. Dark mode button should be be visible in the preview (requires refresh to be completely functional in the preview pane).

    5. Click Publish to save changes.

    Dark Mode Logo

    If your website logo does not appear properly on darker backgrounds, you can upload a logo dedicated to dark mode only. 

    1. Click on Select file rectangle
    2. Upload the dark mode version of your logo



    3. Click Publish to save changes.

    6. Frontpage Builder: Setting up your website homepage

    Inertia provides an easy to use and fast frontpage builder with only few clicks. With more than 25 pre designed sections, you can just activate the sections you want, control sections arrangement with simple drag and drop and voila!


    To customize frontpage in Inertia theme, Follow the following steps:

    1. From Admin Dashboard, click on Inertia -> Theme Options
    2. Click on Frontpage panel



    3. By default, your homepage will show the latest posts sections. To start customizing sections click on Frontpage Builder Panel

    4. Frontpage Layout Builder is the panel that controls sections visibility and its order.

      1. To enable/disable any section visibility, just click on the "eye" icon.

      2. To change sections arrangement, just drag & drop the section to any position you want.

    Customizing frontpage sections

    When you activate the selected sections and feel fine about its arrangement. Click back arrow to view activated sections.

    You will find dedicated panels for each activated section. Click on each one to start customizing colors, backgrounds, layouts and a curated set of options per section.

    7. Layout Configuration

    Inertia provides flexible features to change your website layout in one click.

    You can change the following:

    Website overall container width

    To change website container width, Follow these steps:

    1. From Admin Dashboard, click on Inertia -> Theme Options
    2. Click on Layout Settings Panel


    3. Drag Slider right or left to desired container width


    Helpful Tip

    You will notice that various theme elements (header, footer, frontpage sections, ..etc.) provides an option to control container width like below image:

    Configuring Website Layout Style

    Inertia provides 4 unique site layouts: Wide, Boxed, Framed & Bordered.

    You can change website layout with one click.


    To change website layout style, Follow these steps:

    1. From Admin Dashboard, click on Inertia -> Theme Options
    2. Click on Layout Settings Panel
    3. Click on the desired layout and see the change live on the preview pane.


      Hit Publish button to save changes.




    8. Single Post (Blog post): Options & Configurations

    Inertia provides an easy way to change how your articles look with one click. 

    With more than 11 pre designed layouts, you can just choose the layout you want, control article page elements and control elements visibility as well.

    To customize frontpage n in Inertia theme, Follow the following steps:

    1. From Admin Dashboard, click on Inertia -> Theme Options
    2. Click on Single Post Panel
    3. In Preview pane, click on any single post to see live changes.
    4. Start customizing each part of the page.

    Post Page Layout

    Click on the layout of your choice and see the new layout in the preview pane. Once satisfied, click on Publish for the changes to take effect on the live website.

    The selected layout will be applied to all post pages except posts with uniquely assigned layouts. Read this article for more about selecting a specific layout for one particular post page.

    Available Layouts
    Modern, Blog, Feature, Cover, Magazine, Editorial, Floating, 2 Columns, Classic, Aligned, Full Width.


    Meta Elements 

    Meta elements are all the elements around post title as highlighted in red in below screenshot.

    Visibility of these elements can be controlled by toggling the adjacent swicth Show/Hide.

    Page Blocks

    Page block are blocks that appears after footer content, currently inertia theme has 3 blocks under content:

    Author Block

    Article author block provides information about article author such as name, description and social links.

    Social links are available with MNMLD Theme plugin activated.

    Block comes with 2 layouts:


    Post Navigation Block

    This block provides navigation between posts by viewing previous and next posts.

    You can control the style of this block by choosing between 2 different layouts:


    Once you finished all customizations, Don't forget to hit Publish button to save changes.

    9. Choose Single Post Layout For Specific Post

    By default, choosing single post layout from is applied to all posts. Read this article on how to setup post page layout.

    Please make sure MNMLD Theme plugin is activated in order to enable this feature.

    If you want to choose a particular layout for one of your posts. This can be done as follows:

    1. From Admin Dashboard, click on Posts
    2. Select the post you want to edit. Click Edit
    3. On the bottom right, You will see Post Layout Section



    4. Choose the post layout of your choice and click Update/Publish.
    Tip: choosing unique layout for a certain post will override global layout selected for this particular post.

    10. Speed & Performance Optimization

    Inertia theme is a performance-first theme which means that speed and performance is a priority.

    By following best coding and design practices, Inertia provides a blazing fast performance while being lightweight, optimized and no bloat code.

    Inertia works out-of-the-box, which means it does not need extra configurations or plugins to become fast. 

    However, Wordpress themes in general are not solely responsible for website speed and performance. 

    There are multiple factors in addition to the theme itself to provide consistent experience for users as well as being the best page speed, Google loves fast websites as well.

    Factors That Affect Website Speed

           
          We DO NOT recommend using "LiteSpeed Cache" plugin as it wrongly minify CSS files and my break your website in some cases.

    11. SEO Guide

    Inertia is a SEO optimized theme. This means that Inertia provides the best practices and following the latest standards and recommendations by experts for On-Page SEO.

    Inertia is equipped with the following featured to ensure best SEO performance:

    While Inertia provides the best practices to improve SEO across your website pages, Wordpress themes are limited in scope for some functionalities that cannot be added within theme scope according to wordpress guidelines. 

    Additional plugins might be required for best SEO results, We recommend the following FREE plugins:

    12. Coming Soon Mode Setup

    Inertia theme provides a very useful feature to present a coming soon page to your visitors if your website is not ready yet.

    You still can work and customize your theme and see live changes while coming soon page is active.

    Inertia is equipped with 2 Coming Soon layouts:

    You can control the following:

    Activating coming soon mode

    To activate coming soon page for visitors, Follow these steps:

    1. From Admin Dashboard, click on Inertia -> Theme Options
    2. Click on Pages -> Coming Soon Page Panel
    3. Activate Coming Soon Page
    4. A top bar notice will appear indicating that Coming Soon page is active.

    5. To preview coming soon page, Just access your website from other browser while not logged in.

    13. Contact Form - How to?

    Inertia comes equipped with MNMLD Themes plugin which provides useful features that extends WordPress functionality such as widgets, contact form, and more.

    To add contact form to your pages, follow these steps:

    1. From Dashboard -> MNMLD -> Contact Page Tab


    2. Copy the shortcode [mnmld-contact]

    3. Create a new page from Pages -> Add new

    4. Type / and select Shortcode

    5. Paste the contact form shortcode. 

    6. Publish the page. That's it!

    14. Adding Google Analytics Code

    Inertia comes equipped with MNMLD Themes plugin which provides useful features that extends WordPress functionality such as widgets, contact form, and more.

    To add Google Analytics code or any other tracking code to your pages, follow these steps:

    1. From Dashboard -> MNMLD -> Analytics Code Tab

    2. Paste your tracking code like the image above. 

    3. Save Settings.

    16. Elementor & WP Bakery Support

    Inertia provides support for a wide range of page builder plugins. In particular Elementor & WP Bakery.

    The mentioned plugins works without any extra configuration.


    Can I hide sidebar in Elementor/WP Bakery pages?

    Default option is set to hide sidebar from pages. In case you activate sidebar option but need to hide it from pages built using these plugins, follow these steps:

    1. Navigate to the page/post you want to edit.
    2. In the right pane, navigate to option "Page Sidebar"
    3. Choose No Sidebar
    4. Publish

    17. Theme License & Activation

    By Purchasing Inertia Theme, you are eligible to use the theme on 1 domain only.

    if you want to use Inertia on other domains, you should buy separate copy for each domain.

    Starting from version 1.3.0 of Inertia, You will be asked to provide theme license key in order to keep using the theme.

    How to find your purchase code (License key)

    1. Log into your Envato Market account.
    2. Hover the mouse over your username at the top of the screen.
    3. Click ‘Downloads’ from the drop-down menu.`
    4. Click ‘License certificate & purchase code’ (available as PDF or text file).
